Fifth grade made fraction flowers! They created six equivalent fractions as the petals, writing the decimal at the center, and placing their fraction leaf on a stem number line! #MTA #MathFun 🌼




Middle school took a trip to the Drake Well Museum last Thursday. Students split into groups with a tour guide. They were able to explore the hands-on museum and walk to the various outdoor exhibits. After learning about the history of the oil industry and this historic sight, everyone enjoyed lunch at the picnic ground. There was perfect weather to race, play tag, roll down the hill, and catch and release salamanders. #MTA 🛢










Today, third and fourth grade had the chance to visit Asbury Woods and learn about metamorphosis! Through experiential learning, students got to explore the life cycles of bees, frogs and butterflies. Students got to meet and pet different animals, collect and explore water samples, and play a bee-life cycle game! 🐝🐸🦋🐰











To close out their Pythagorean Theorem unit, eighth grade created Spiral Projects. Students created right triangles with a side leg length of one inch and used the previous hypotenuse as the second leg length of the proceeding triangle. After measuring and calculating the legs and hypotenuse of all their triangles, students created an art design to add to this math assignment. #MTA #MathFun 🔺



Today, Ms. Nolan’s middle school math classroom was glowing for a day full of fun NWEA MAP testing preparation! To get ready for next week’s MAP testing, students rotated between the stations answering a variety of math questions while simultaneously playing a game. The games included Tic-Tac-Toe, Connect4, Jenga, and mystery cups. To make the review games even more fun, the room was blacked-out and covered with neon and glowing materials with black lights. The students were engaged and had lots of fun reviewing! #MTA #MathFun 🔆🔢











Yesterday, Ms. Nolan’s middle school math classroom was transformed into a “hospital” where the students performed eight surgeries! Students evaluated various levels of expressions following the order of operations. For a change, students wore masks and gowns just for fun! #MTA #MathFun 🔢🏥

As a way to celebrate Earth Day, first grade researched worms to learn about their importance to the Earth. They learned about the body segments and hair! They got close with the worms today by using magnifying glasses to learn more about them! #MTA #EarthDay 🪱







Kindergarten’s Backwards Bootcamp has begun!! Yesterday, for “Z” day, they went to the zoo. First grade even tagged along! It was a great day! #MTA #BackwardsBootcamp 🐒🐢🦏🐗🐅🦁











Monday was Earth Day! What better way to celebrate than cleaning up the grounds and planting flowers! #MTA #EarthDay 🌎🌷






Third and fourth grade had an opportunity to see what AFJROTC is all about! Students were able to watch a demonstration, ask questions, and play a game of knockout to practice following commands. Congratulations to Damon ’29 and Gemariah ’28 for winning knockout! #MTA #AFJROTC










Eighth grade put in work in the STEAM Lab! They created their own 3D printed nightlights wired with LED lights. #MTA #STEAM 💡





Middle school science classes learned the importance of proper measurements. Students were taught how to read tape measures down to 1/16 of an inch! #MTA #Science 📏





Seventh grade students investigated ratios, proportions, polarity, and density yesterday! They created lava lamps with Ms. Malue’s small groups through the Northwest Tri-County IU5. #MTA #Math 🌋

Friday was a cross-curriculum day at MTA! The theme was natural disasters. Middle school science students learned about plate tectonics and how our surface moves. They used Rice Krispie Treats, graham crackers, and frosting. Fun facts and tasty treats!! #MTA #CrossCurriculum

Yesterday, we celebrated the upcoming solar eclipse and dressed in a blackout across the school! Students received their solar eclipse glasses so they can safely view the astronomical highlight of 2024!
