Therapy Dogs United, Inc. went above and beyond to make their visit with Kindergarten special. They enjoyed getting to know the dogs and learning about their important roles in our community. Our kindergarteners look forward to their next visit with them where they will take turns reading to the dogs! #MTA 🐶

Sixth grade Religion class found a creative way to share what they’ve been learning with our first graders! They worked hard to write and illustrate their own stories that teach about the Stations of the Cross and Jesus’ death and resurrection. Using Canva, they designed their own pages and images and then met with their first grade buddies today to read their stories aloud.

Our sixth graders did a wonderful job showing creativity, teamwork, and a real desire to help our younger friends learn and grow in their faith! #MTA #Faith ✝️

Last Friday, our school celebrated the Stations of the Cross at Saint Peter Cathedral as one, whole community. Fr. Ben led the celebration and was accompanied by KyShawn Hill ’26, Victor Colon ’26, and Cam Phillips ’26. Ms. Carlson spent the week prior talking with classes individually about what the Stations of the Cross are and practiced going through them as classes. Bringing us all together, staff and students felt like this was a wonderful way to continue our Lenten journey and end our week at MTA. #MTA #Community ✝️

Kindergarten brought one of their favorite teachers on their field trip yesterday: Mr. C! They took a Jumpin’ Jungle, and it did not disappoint. Everyone had a blast jumping, playing, and celebrating Mr. C's birthday with cookie cake! #MTA 🎂

Third and fourth grade practiced telling time on an analog clock using their bodies as hands on a clock. Any time we can combine math and gym is a good day! #MTA #MathFun 🕒

Last night, we celebrated our eighth graders prior to their volleyball game against Saint George! Our Saints went on to split their games against the Lancers. We are so proud of them and their accomplishments this season! #MTA #GoSaints 🏐

Mrs. Szewczykowski's kindergarten class made leprechaun traps for St. Patrick’s Day in hopes of catching a leprechaun. Their traps were creative but somehow the leprechaun managed to escape! He played tricks on them and left them gold coins! #MTA ☘️

Middle school science classes dissected sharks yesterday. Students investigated the inner anatomy of this apex predator. #MTA #Science 🦈

Last week was Saints Celebrate Reading Week! Monday was Hats off to Reading Day, Tuesday was Snuggle up With a Book Day, Wednesday was Mismatch Day, Thursday was Team Up for Reading Day, and Friday was Literary Legends Day. Each day, students and teachers dressed up according to the theme. On Tuesday, students enjoyed playing reading-themed Kahoot!, while on Thursday they read and colored bookmarks with buddies! It was an amazing week celebrating the power of reading! #MTA #SaintsCelebrateReading 📚

The “S.A.I.N.T. of the Month” program is a way to acknowledge and celebrate individual achievement. It helps create a school culture that values academic success, as well as elevates awareness of student contributions to the learning environment. Four students were selected to represent MTA at the Pennsylvania Art Education Association (PAEA) 2026 Youth Art Month Show. Their work is virtually on display on the PAEA website along with other student artists from across the state. Congratulations to Izabella Santiago ’26, Adaliah Rosa-Ferguson ’30, Julien Volgstadt ’31, and Julian Garnica-Navarrette ’32. Fifth grade completed their “Mini Life-Size Figure” projects in Mrs. Rodgers art class! Students worked in groups to create figures that could be placed around the school. Their figure had to show some sort of motion. They had so much fun making these, and it was even more fun seeing the rest of the school's reactions to the figures when they appeared in the windows out front of the school and in the office! #MTA #Art 🎨🖌️

Our boys basketball team was invited to watch the Lake Erie Jackals play at Edinboro’s McComb Fieldhouse this past weekend! The team had the opportunity to meet the players, take pictures, and get autographs. The Jackals are a professional team that plays in the Basketball Super League. #MTA 🏀

Student Council recently hosted a dress down to benefit the Anna Shelter. Students had the opportunity to tour the shelter, meet the animals, and present the check on Friday. Great job, Saints! #MTA #Community 🐶🐱

Our Saints have been working hard on the court! Our boys varsity basketball team recently won the Black History Month Basketball Classic at Eagle's Nest School of Academic Distinction. They defeated the hosts, 56-38, to win the title. #MTA #GoSaints 🏀

Our second graders checked into “Contraction Hospital,” where teams worked together to “operate” on words and stitch them back together as contractions. We are so proud of their teamwork and grammar skills! #MTA 🏥

The Season of Lent has begun! We celebrated our weekly mass on Wednesday in observance of Ash Wednesday with Fr. Mike DeMartinis. The ashes come from blessed palms from Palm Sunday of the previous year to symbolize penance and repentance. May everyone have a blessed Lenten season! #MTA #Lent ✝️

Congratulations to second grade! They raised the most money in the entire school for our Catholic Schools Week fundraiser and chose Happy Bark as their charity. Happy Bark is an amazing organization that rescues dogs from Kentucky and helps them find their forever home right here in the Erie area. Extra special shoutout to Happy Bark for helping Ms. Fuhrman find and adopt her puppy, Lue! Way to go Saints! Your generosity, leadership, and heart while supporting such a great cause are unmatched! #MTA #Community 🐶
