Ms. Kabasinski’s Physics classes participated in their “Pumpkin Drop” activity today for their unit on projectiles. Students were tasked with dropping their pumpkin from the balcony and hitting the target. • Congratulations to Girls Tennis! For the eighth straight season, they are District 10 Champions! They swept Warren, 5-0, to take the AA title. Anna Poranski, Finleigh Handzel and Paige Patsy won in singles. In doubles, Sophia Glance/Margaret Prichard were victorious, as were Sofia Falvo/Lilli Beuchert. • Varsity hockey fell to Mt. Lebanon, 9-1. Ethan Cunningham had the lone goal for the Ramblers. 🏒

• Girls soccer swept McDowell. Varsity completed a season sweep of the Trojans with a 3-2 double overtime win. Olivia Dixon had a hat trick for the Ramblers. Callie Cacchione had two assists, while CC Cacchione added another. JVs earned a 3-1 victory. ⚽

• Girls tennis picked up a 5-0 win over Wilmington to advance to the D-10 AAA championship on Thursday. All matches were won in straight sets. Anna Poranski. Finleigh Handzel and Paige Patsy took singles. In doubles, it was Sophia Glance/Margaret Prichard and Lilli Beuchert/Sofia Falvo getting wins for the Ramblers. 🎾
• Boys soccer picked up an 8-0 win over Corry in a varsity-only matchup. Juan Pablo Dogre Milet had a hat trick. Cam Dunbar and Anuar Elias Martin Angli each scored a pair. Logan Sauers also scored. ⚽
• Girls volleyball swept Erie High. Varsity swept the Royals, 3-0. Carolina Krahe had nine kills and five digs. Olivia Hutchinson had nine kills, while Coco Speros had eight kills. Mackenzie Moore had five digs. Kamryn Resurreccion had eight digs and 30 assists. JVs went to three sets but picked up a 2-1 victory to close out their season. 🏐
• Cooper Wierzchowski finished tied for 65th at the PIAA AAA tournament in State College. He shot a six-over 78 in his second round to finish 18-over on the tournament. ⛳
Sophomore, junior and senior MedPath students visited Kloecker Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. today. Adrienne (Kloecker) Kalivoda ’12VMA gave a very spirited and engaging day-in-the-life of a funeral director lecture, and gave a detailed tour of the embalming process. She provided insights into grief management, bereavement support, estate settlement and the emotional aspects of healthcare, as well as the interdisciplinary collaboration between nurses, doctors, end of life care professionals, coroners and funeral directors. #Prep #MedPath
GlobalPath and TechPath students visited Mercyhurst University’s School of Intelligence, Computing, and Global Politics. They were given the opportunity to experience lessons from some of the most acclaimed individuals in the fields. Students had a chance to learn about Mercyhurst’s Political Science, Intelligence Studies, and Cyber Security programs, and were granted a tour of the very impressive Center for Intelligence Research, Analysis, and Training (CIRAT) which included personal conversations/stories/lessons from some of Mercyhurst’s best educators. • Girls soccer swept General McLane. Varsity picked up a 3-0 shutout over the Lancers. Callie Cacchione had a pair of goals. Olivia Dixon also scored. Jordan Senz got the win in net. JVs won their matchup, 4-1. Katie Toohey had a pair of goals. Annalise Calvert and Shelby Abogunde also found the back of the net. ⚽
• Boys soccer swept Nichols (NY). Varsity earned a 1-0 shutout over the Vikings. JVs picked up an 8-0 win. Caleb Frederick and Andrew Spitzer had two goals each, while Aron Nemeth, Isaac Spencer, Cam Dunbar and Jordan Moye also scored. Moye and Breese Stoeger shared the shutout. ⚽
• At the PIAA AAA Championships in State College, Cooper Wierzchowski is in a tie for 69th place after the first round. He shot a 12-over 84. ⛳

• Football split their weekend matchups against Butler. On Homecoming, varsity rolled to a 54-7 victory over the Golden Tornado. Luke Costello threw a pair of touchdowns to Max Spence and Corey Allen. He also scored twice on the ground. Dajoure Hollingsworth and Charbel Latouf each had over 100 yards on the ground. Hollingsworth found the end zone three times, while Latouf had a score. JVs lost their game, 36-8. 🏈
• Boys water polo split their weekend at the Screamin’ Eagle tournament. The fell to host Cumberland Valley, 11-8, before defeating Exeter, 10-5. Callum Snider-Mills had nine total goals to lead the Ramblers. Owen Carson scored four times while, Colin Troutman had three goals. Dan Kubiak made nine saves in net. 🤽♂️
• Girls water polo also took part in the Screamin’ Eagle. They also split their weekend matchups. The Ramblers beat host Cumberland Valley in overtime, 11-10, before falling to Exeter in overtime, 7-6. McKenzie DiPlacido had eight total goals. Yesterday, members of our President’s Leadership Council enjoyed an evening at the Salata Technology & Innovation Center. Guests gathered while hearing about the latest school information from President Kevin Smith. Student speakers included senior Luke Costello ’24 and junior Julia Scrutchins ’25. Each provided a personal story of how attending Cathedral Prep has impacted their lives and thanked the group for supporting them and their fellow students. After the program portion of the evening, guests were able to tour the school. • Three Rambler tandems competed in the District Ten Doubles tournament at Westwood Racquet Club yesterday. The pairings of Margaret Prichard/Paige Patsy and Sofia Falvo/Lilli Beuchert picked up victories in the first round, while Finleigh Handzel/Sophia Glance earned a bye. All three teams would win their second-round and quarterfinal matches. In the semifinals, Glance/Handzel defeated the tandem from Warren, while Prichard/Patsy defeated Falvo/Beuchert to advance to the AA Championship match. In a battle of the Ramblers, Glance/Handzel would take the title 7-6 (7-1), 6-3, over Prichard/Patsy. Congratulations, Finleigh 26 and Sophia 25! They are now Hershey bound! 🏆🎾

This past week, two Cathedral Prep alumni submitted their commitment forms to participate in the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. Ross Runstedler ’08 and Jake Scheloske ’09 each signed up for the program, which will take their Pennsylvania state tax liability and direct that money toward financial aid to support families sending their children to Cathedral Prep! AFJROTC cadets recently enjoyed their bi-annual Fitness Day over at the Hagerty Family Events Center. The entire corps of cadets participate in the Air Force fitness test that includes the mile run, sit ups, and pushups. They also found some time to practice for the Veterans Day Parade, which begins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, at 26th & State. #Prep #AFJROTC

• Girls volleyball swept their doubleheader against McDowell. On Senior Night, varsity picked up a huge 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-16) win over the Trojans. Kaylin Laird had 10 kills. Coco Speros and Olivia Hutchinson finished with eight kills each. Ellen Hutchinson had six aces, while Mackenzie Moore had nine digs. Kharhys Nickson had 6 kills. Kamryn Resurreccion had 30 assists and seven digs. JVs began the night with a 2-0 win. 🏐
• Girls cross country wrapped up the Region title with a 24-35 win over McDowell. Anne-Catherine Brown won the race with Lauren Raimy placing second. Allison Bender was sixth, while Makayla Stutts took seventh. Fina Bannister, Grace Barrett and Sarah Teed finished ninth through 11th, respectively. 👟
• Boys cross country fell to McDowell, 45-16. James Burkett finished fifth overall to lead Prep. Noah Lata took seventh, while Jeremai Pruzenski finished 10th. 👟
• Boys water polo fell to North Allegheny in a close one, 13-11. Callum Snider-Mills had six goals to lead the Ramblers. Colin Troutman had a hat trick, while Heath Kreidinger and Adam Clark also scored. Dan Kubiak made 10 saves. 🤽♂️
• Girls water polo also lost to North Allegheny, 12-6. Megan Cardella and McKenzie DiPlacido each scored twice, while Mia Shaughnessy and Savannah Wierzchowski also scored. Brianne Ryan made seven saves. 🤽♀️
• Varsity hockey lost to Bethel Park, 4-1. Tucker Kinnear scored the lone goal. Tanne Ball made 33 saves in net. 🏒
Several students participated in District 10’s Leadership/Sportsmanship Seminar held at the Hagerty Family Events Center yesterday. The seminar, which hosted 125 students from across District 10, was led by speaker Craig Hillier. Hillier has a passion to work with students, educators, and professionals, and he has spoken to over two million people since 1990. It was a great experience for our students! #Prep #Leadership
