Before becoming a PT, she was a proud member of the Villa Maria Class of 2010 leaving VMA and pursuing her dream as a professional ballerina. This eventually inspired her to help others recover from injuries and reach their goals. Now, she works with young athletes and kids to help them return to the activities they love. She has even traveled with the U.S. Olympic Team!
She shared valuable insights about the education required to become a physical therapist, the cutting-edge motion analysis technology used at Shriners, and the importance of empathy, patience, and maintaining an “I can” attitude, skills that can’t be taught in a classroom.
Her advice to students was powerful:
• Don’t take the easy way out in school.
• Make choices that build your resume and set you up for success.
• Be financially savvy—consider tuition costs, salary potential, and cost of living.
• Choose a career with a work-life balance that fits you.
• And most of all, find the beautiful moments during your educational journey.
Thank you, Mary, for inspiring our students to dream big, work hard, and think smart! #MedPath #PhysicalTherapy ⚕️
