We had two service projects taking place during lunches today! A project continued from last year, volunteers made PB&J sandwiches to send to Emmaus Soup Kitchen. This project has taken place on weekly basis this school year as well. Also, we had JoAnn Burkhart from Project Linus come in to show our Outreach Club how to make tie blankets. Project Linus supplies blankets to local children who are hospitalized or in shelters. We loved the opportunity to help with this worthwhile cause!! #Prep #Service #Community

Sponsored by Outreach Club, we successfully served two Christmas dinners yesterday! First, volunteers worked the dinner at Community Shelter Services. We were able to serve the families and provide a little Christmas cheer. Take-out dinners were also provided for the residents at The Lodge on Sass. We then went to First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant and were able to serve at their weekly Sunday Suppers. Students entered the experience hoping to be the face of Christ to others, but frequently found they experienced Christ’s joy and peace themselves in those that we served. #Prep #Service #Community 🎄

Preparations are coming together for our Christmas dinner this Sunday. Thanks to the generosity of our students and families, we collected $500 more than our typical dress down collection amount for the Christmas dinners/gifts. We also had many generous families reach out to buy gifts for the children we’ll be serving at Community Shelter Services on Sunday. We will be helping with two dinners Sunday. First, serving dinner for the residents at Community Shelter Services, and then working the weekly Sunday Supper at First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant. As we prepare to serve and interact with those who are in need this weekend, we ask for continued prayers for the homeless and those struggling this holiday season in our community! #Prep #Service #Community 🎄
