Cathedral Prep baseball has a long tradition of excellence. On this episode, we welcomed Frank Lauria ’04VMA, the current head coach leading the program forward.
Frank is a proud product of our Prep and Villa community. He shares his journey from being a student-athlete at Villa to now leading the Ramblers on the diamond. After playing college baseball at Notre Dame College and Gannon University, Frank returned to Erie and later joined the Cathedral Prep coaching staff in 2017. Since then, he has helped develop dozens of players who have gone on to play college baseball and, in 2025, led the Ramblers to a District 10 championship in his first season as the varsity head coach.
Coach Lauria reflects on the mentors who shaped him and the family legacy that connects him to Cathedral Prep. Frank goes on to discuss the leadership/coaching philosophy he brings to building a championship culture and a look ahead to their upcoming season. It’s a great conversation about baseball, leadership, and the impact of Prep and Villa on generations of families in our community.
