Last weekend, Prep Theatre presented Robert Louis Stevenson's “Treasure Island,” a play by Nicolas Billon. Young Jim Hawkins finds himself aboard a ship manned by a motley crew of carousers in search of buried treasure. After a vicious mutiny, led by Long John Silver, nearly sends them to Davy Jones' Locker, Jim and his friends discover that they're in a race against the pirates for the treasure - and their lives! The show starred Riley Hanlon ’26 as “Jim Hawkins” and Finn Paterson ’26 as “Long John Silver.” The cast and crew numbered over 30 students. Supporting cast members included Lauren Proper ’26 as “Ben Gunn,” Riley Washko ’27 as “Dr. Livesey,” Alejandro Miranda ’26 as “Captain Smollett,” and Roman Luniewski ’26 as “Squire Trelawney.” A fun time was had by the entire cast and the children in the audience who got to help the pirates find the treasure. The sets were designed by Mrs. Gretchen Petrarca and built by Mr. Paul Snyder ’77. Costumes were by Mrs. Wendi Proper and Mrs. Tanya Czarnecki. Fr. Mike DeMartinis directed, and Mrs. Patty Corella-Weibel supplied the choreography. Next up is our spring musical: “Les Misérables: School Edition!”
