Please join me in welcoming two new additions to our staff as they assume the newly created positions of Assistant Vice-President of Academics and Student Affairs. Mr. Richard Herbstritt (Prep '96) is assigned to Cathedral Prep and Ms. Veronica Connaroe is assigned to Villa Maria Academy as the new Assistant Vice-Presidents. These newly created positions reflect the recent restructuring that is being done for Prep and Villa. As was announced previously, Mr. Will Pituch was appointed the new Vice-President of Academics and Student Affairs which oversees both Prep and Villa and has the important responsibility of aligning the Prep and Villa academic programs and curriculum so that both campuses continue on a path of academic excellence with the same academic opportunities being offered to both Prep and Villa students. The Vice-President reports directly to the President. The Vice-President is also charged with unifying Prep and Villa while also respecting those unique and distinctive traditions and histories of Prep and Villa as long as they do not impede the school's unity and academic excellence.
In their roles as Assistant Vice-President, both Mr. Herbstritt and Ms. Connaroe will report directly to and work together with Mr. Pituch to make sure that the goals of unity and excellence are addressed and pursued. They will handle much of the day-to-day operations on their respective campus.
With these two highly qualified AVPs working together with our new highly qualified VP, we look forward to the future with great optimism and excitement. Not only will this new governance structure help us be more unified and focused in making sure that we continue to offer the very best college preparatory Catholic education in the area bar none, but the individuals who are filling those positions will provide the skills, commitment, direction, and competencies that will move us forward to be stronger and better than ever.
My personal thanks goes to Mr. Pituch, Mr. Herbstritt and Ms. Connaroe for accepting these responsibilities. I look forward to working closely with them this coming school year and beyond.
May God continue to bless our school especially as we begin a new school year. May our students, faculty, staff, administration, Board of Directors and our parents and families be richly blessed this coming year and for all that they do for Cathedral Prep and Villa Maria Academy.
