Standardized Tests

All students in Grade 9 take the PSAT 8/9. According to CollegeBoard this test is:  to establish a starting point in terms of college and career readiness as students transition to high school.The PSAT 8/9 is highly relevant to your future success and focuses on the skills and knowledge at the heart of education. It measures:
 
-What you learn in school
-What you need to succeed in college
 

A Pre-ACT test is administered to all students in Grade 10. It measures basic academic development and helps identify career interests. Students meet with their counselor to receive a copy of the score report, review the scores, and discuss career information.

PSAT tests are administered to students in Grade 11. The skills tested on the PSAT/NMSQT are the skills needed in college. The PSAT compares academic skills with those of other college-bound students. Students meet with their counselor and review the PSAT score report.

Test preparation for students is provided through inclusion in curriculum as well a variety of online sources.

ACT and SAT

Students are encouraged to take the ACT and/or the SAT in the spring of their junior year. Students should meet with their school counselor if they have questions about the tests.
