Middle States Team Recommends Prep-Villa for Accreditation
Over the past eight months, the Prep-Villa Middle States Team, led by internal coordinators Ruth Oligeri and Liz Slaby, have been preparing for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education team to visit our school and review our application for accreditation. The Prep-Villa Middle States Team included members of administration, faculty, and staff that worked on objectives and an action plan for the Excellence by Design self-study that is used by the Middle States as its standard for accreditation.
The Middle States Commission on Higher Education is a voluntary, non-governmental, membership association that is dedicated to quality assurance and improvement through accreditation via peer evaluation. Middle States accreditation instills public confidence in institutional mission, goals, performance, and resources through its rigorous accreditation standards and their enforcement. Institutions must be reviewed every 7 years to keep their accreditation. The Middle States Accreditation Team that reviewed Prep-Villa's application was chaired by Jason Hilton, PhD, a secondary education professor from Slippery Rock University.
After reviewing Prep-Villa's Excellence by Design self-study and spending two days meeting with faculty, board members, staff, students and parents, on Wednesday March 11 the Middle States Commission announced their preliminary findings recommending Prep-Villa for accreditation without reservation. Prep-Villa will receive their formal accreditation in a few months.
Thank you to our Middle States Team for all their work in preparing for this review. Thank you to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education for your work in ensuring high quality education in the schools you review.
